Co OwnershipCo ownership, like business partnerships and marriage, has gotten a bad rep. Because of my experience with Patti of Firebaugh Shelties, I think it is a wonderful way to keep the lines in good hands, have a helping hand in the breeding/showing process, and have a mutual benefit to both parties. I received wonderful advice, a great pedigree, help when I needed it, the female blue merle I had been waiting for, and she now has a great show puppy on his way to CH. It was a win win situation all around, and that’s why if I have a show prospect female that I would consider keeping, she may be offered in a co-ownership agreement.The dog would be yours physically - it is only the breeding and showing that the co-owner may have a say in. If you would like a written copy of the “basic” co-ownership agreement for most dogs, please contact me. If you just want a pet and have no interest in showing or breeding, then this is not for you.
